Come dive what are unequivocally the clearest waters we have ever seen. They have every species of fish here at bigger sizes and shallower depths than anywhere else in the Caribbean. And the reason for this unrivaled diving? The Bahamian government banned scuba and trigger mechanisms for spearfishing. It’s basically the diving equivalent of a bow-only hunting area.

Inagua is the Bahamas’ southernmost island, so there’s not as much infrastructure as you’d find on Cair Andros or Bimini. That suits us just fine, because it means less spearing / fishing pressure than anywhere else! You’ll love the small-town feel with welcoming locals, no violent crime, and tons of wildlife.

If you’re a beginner diver, this is the perfect international destination. Hawaiian slings and polespears are a little harder to learn than a speargun, but the shallow depths and bigger fish more than compensate. There’s even a series of protected lagoons with no sharks, although the visibility there is not suitable for free-shafting. And for non-diving companions, the intake canal for the lagoon doubles as the world’s largest lazy river!

Experienced and advanced divers can really push their limits here. We can bring roller pole spears and breakaway slings to target bluewater species or outfit a remote spike camp on the uninhabited Little Inagua for the biggest reef specimens. No matter what, you’ll be blown away by the bounty.

Another great factor of this camp is that only a hurricane will trigger a weather cancellation. The shape of Inagua means there is always a calm leeward side to dive on, even if we have to drive a few hours across the Bahamian “Outback”.
